Descriptionrim shots, 1st edition, published in 1973 by harry lorayne. This 148 page book is entitled rim shots, in reference to the sound achieved when a drummer strikes the rim of a drum with a drumstick. Harry lorayne chose this name because he feels that all the effects and routines in this book are good, and that they each deserve a rim shot. This 148 page book is divided into 4 chapters of sleights, moves, tricks, and routines with cards plus a kicker with rubber bands at the end.
Chapter one-flip up double lift, mind boggler, half force, quikc crimp, fast repeat reverse, half-force aces, half-force open prediction, double-cut lap, chopstick one-hand cut, a red-black shuffle, the riffle diffle, super riffle diffle, three table false cuts, and the retention of vision cut. Chapter two-amazing prediction, noe hand top palm method. A top palm, multiple palm, controlled spelling, cast a triple spell, spell again, the rockin' chair, ribbon-spread palm, deal location, wired, and one handed instant crimp.
Chapter three-lap switch, color-full, status quo shuffle, utility deal peek, persistence-of-vision control, switch control, clipper switch, one of four, card case escape, improvisation location, and a four card switch for poker. Chapter four-spectator challenge aces, any ace spell, spell-mell, two simple controls, dribble control, halo aces, halo again, halo mates, halo reverse, and two rubber band ideas. Also, this book has a unique quality. It can be used as a force book. The 21st word of each chapter is that (don't count headings and hyphenated words count as 2). Overall, this softcover book is in very good condition with a slight rubbing or wearing away of color along the left front edge from shelf wear (see photos 1 & 2). As with any item this old, some agign and minor imperfections should be expected. Any major flaws have been noted.
