Bascom Jones Compleat Magick Iiv Out Of Print NrThis auction is for a set of volumes i, ii, iii and iv of the compleat magick series, edited by bascom jones, published by collector's workshop in 1986 -1994 in a limited edition of 500 numbered copies. Each volume covers roughly five years and the material is organized into the following categories impromptu, close-up, club/stage, publicity magick, show stoppers, tip and techniques, and the mystic word (jones' editorial comments). The latter begins with july 31, 1970 and ends with april 23, 1993. The first three volumes have an index of titles of effects in that volume, followed by an index of contributors to this volume, followed by an index of categories. In volume iii this is followed by a cumulative index to the first 3 volumes (which cover issues 1-372 of magick). Volume iv has a single index, combining the titles (in plain type), authors (in bold type) and categories (in italic type). Editor and publisher bascom jones died on march 23, 1994 and the last few issues he published have not yet been combined into a single volume, though rumors occasionally indicate that this will one day occur. Here is a very abbreviated list fo contributors magick david alexander, david avadon, tony andruzzi, larry baukin, larry becker, david berglas, bob cassidy, cicardi, lee earle, phil goldstein, ray grismer, david hoy, basil horwitz, jay inglese, ross johnson, ted karmilovich, denny laub, ted lesley, al mann, orville meyer, gene nielsen, terry nosek, richard osterlind, phantini (gene grant), charles reynolds, barrie richardson, steve shaw (banachek), t. A. Waters and richard webster. And that is just the very tip of this very large iceberg! Each of the books measures 8.5 x 11.25, hardback foli stamped titles on front and spine. Volume i has x + 571 pages. Volume ii has viii + 548 pages, and volume iii has viii + 540 pages, volume iv has iv + 592 pages. More than 2200 pages of prime mentalism! The condition on each of these volumes is fine with no signs of prior ownership. The volumes bear the following limitation numbers volume i is #276/500. Volume ii is #294/500, volume iii is unnumbered (there a no number after the this copy is no. ) of 500. Vloume iv is 440/500. The four hardback volumes are out of print and getting hard to find, these were sold for $155 each new when they were still available, and a comparable set we offered on ebay last may sold for $1422 plus shipping to germany (ebay item #270236672607), but as with our other current ebay auctions, we'll start the bidding ridiculously low, with no reserve!
